The
Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of medium to large-scale projects, ensuring all contracted work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company and customer requirements. This role provides leadership for project teams, manages customer relationships, oversees financial performance, and ensures quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, mentor, and develop project personnel.
- Manage employee performance, promotions, compensation recommendations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and professional growth.
- Lead project meetings, operations meetings, and training sessions.
Project & Operations Management- Direct all phases of project execution from planning through completion.
- Manage workforce allocation, staffing levels, and workload distribution.
- Monitor installation progress and ensure timely project delivery.
- Ensure productivity goals, project milestones, and customer requirements are met.
Financial & Administrative Oversight- Monitor project profitability and maintain budget compliance.
- Review job cost reports, invoicing, collections, and financial documentation for accuracy.
- Ensure timely completion of project paperwork, including timesheets, work orders, change orders, material transfers, and closeout documentation.
- Support accurate project forecasting and financial reporting.
Customer Relations- Serve as the primary operational liaison between the company and customer representatives.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Attend customer, construction, and facility meetings as required.
- Address customer concerns and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
Quality & Technical Management- Conduct job-site inspections and quality control reviews.
- Ensure installations meet company and customer standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Prepare and maintain red-lined as-built drawings and project records.
- Prevent service interruptions and maintain operational excellence.
Process Improvement & Safety- Review operational processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Identify and implement improvements in estimating, purchasing, scheduling, warehousing, invoicing, and reporting processes.
- Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Partner with Training and Safety teams to maintain a strong safety culture and high-quality standards.
- Manage company tools, vehicles, and inventory.

Qualifications

- The General Superintendent must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image.
- The General Superintendent must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- The General Superintendent must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
- The General Superintendent must also have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop branch and job processes and best practices.
- The General Superintendent must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- The General Superintendent must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- The General Superintendent must possess the ability to learn and teach the Company and customer project management systems.
- The General Superintendent must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk very large job sites regularly.
- The General Superintendent must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:- Prefer a minimum of five (5) years' experience of supervisory or managerial experience.
- The General Superintendent must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
- The General Superintendent must also have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
- Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- The General Superintendent Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
- Must be able to use the following trade Tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5-gang punch tool.
