Candidates should be dependable, self-starters, and have a strong desire to learn and problem solve. Candidates should possess broad-based analytical skills and have knowledge of and/or the desire to learn the following: accounting concepts and financial statements, large amounts of work in Excel including working with models, ability to manipulate large data sets, and superior written and oral communication skills. The individual must be able to effectively allocate time between multiple immediate, short and medium-term tasks, changing priorities, strict deadlines and provide analytical support for multiple people within management.
Responsibilities:
• Overall financial analysis responsibilities for the Portfolio Management group;
• Update and maintain portfolio financial projection models to calculate and project fund level cash
flows and returns;
• Maintain Portfolio investment and diversification summary for presentation to the firm's
Investment Committee;
• Monitor Fund level financial performance to identify and communicate opportunities and threats;
• Coordinate and assist in the completion of material for quarterly and annual investor reporting,
• Advisory Committee Meetings, webinars, and various internal reporting;
• Assist in the establishment of fund and asset level KPIs and track performance;
• Assist the portfolio management team's efforts toward the implementation of a firmwide data
platform by validating historical and new data
• Analyze sector, strategy and partner performance;
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed capital events (sales, refinances, etc.) to the fund
performance;
• Work closely with Acquisitions and Asset Management to incorporate new investments into the
• Funds and monitor on-going asset level performance;
• Participate in the annual business planning and valuation process;
• Coordinate with Client Services and Marketing and Accounting groups to processes and respond
to investor requests;
• Utilize third party applications (Yardi, Chatham, Argus, etc.) for data collection and analysis;
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or work experience in real estate and/or finance preferred;
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling;
• Core knowledge of real estate principles, finance and accounting;
• High attention to detail, organized, and self-directed individual eager to learn;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Entry level position, but previous real estate analysis experience is a plus
$90,000 - $90,000 a year
For Illinois Only: The expected base salary for this position is $90,000. Actual salaries may vary based on a number of factors, including skills, experience, and qualifications.
