We're looking for a Substation Design Project Engineer to join our team of innovators, problem solvers, and trusted industry experts.

What You'll Do Design & Develop: - Create, review or revise substation layouts, engineering drawings, system calculations, and specifications. Design projects in compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Gain hands-on experience with electrical and civil applications, including steel structures, breakers, grounding, protective relaying, and foundation design.
Plan & Analyze: - Partner with member cooperatives, municipalities, contractors, and consultants to scope and deliver projects.
- Conduct engineering and economic analysis to support project decisions and budgets.
- Investigate new technologies and apply best practices in substation engineering.
Support & Collaborate: - Provide technical expertise across departments such as ROW, Regulatory, Project Management, and Planning.
- Assist construction crews, suppliers, and inspectors to resolve field or design issues.
- Perform site visits, inspections, and testing of substations.
- Provide effective direction to others in a team-based environment
- Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of cross-functional teams.
What We're Looking For Education: - Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required.
- Other ABET-accredited engineering degrees with specialized substation design experience may be considered.
- Six years of experience as an Engineer with Texas Registration as a Professional Engineer
Professional Credentials: Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus; required for signing/sealing reports and drawings.
