Full Job Description
What does the team work on?

The Subscriptions & SSP Insights team is at the forefront of data-driven decision-making for Roku's Subscriptions business. This team is responsible for building out the insights suite that the Subscriptions business runs on: the metrics, KPIs, reports, dashboards, deep-dive analyses, and more. By working closely with cross-functional teams, including Core Analytics and Data Engineering, the Subscriptions & SSP Insights team will be a key enabler of growth and contribute to Roku's success.

What is the role?

Roku is seeking a Subscriptions & SSP Insights Manager, Howdy to lead insights for Howdy, Roku's owned-and-operated streaming service. Howdy has grown since launch and continues to expand its reach. This role owns the insights behind that growth.

This role sees the whole business and connects the pieces. You'll own the recurring reporting Howdy leadership relies on, build the measurement framework that sits behind it, and help answer the questions that shape where Howdy goes next.

Your insights will inform important decisions across a range of cross-functional partners and will reach senior leadership.

This role is for someone with strong business acumen and genuine curiosity - someone who doesn't just report the numbers, but asks why they're moving, what they mean for the business, and what we should do next.

For New York Only - The estimated annual base salary for this position is between $143,000 - $202,500.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

How will I use AI at Roku?

At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability.

We value curious, adaptable builders, who can show how they've used AI, agents, or automation to move faster, improve quality, and scale their impact. Strong candidates know how to frame problems, guide AI-assisted work, check the output, and learn quickly. Above all, they bring curiosity, adaptability, and sound judgment.

What are the responsibilities of the role?
  • Own Howdy insights: Define, track, and tell the story behind the metrics and KPIs that matter most to Roku's owned-and-operated streaming business - subscriptions, signups, churn - across every market and distribution channel
  • Run the operating rhythm: Own the daily, weekly, and monthly Howdy reporting that leadership runs the business on, and drive it toward a single consolidated, automated source of truth rather than parallel reports
  • Drive international insights: Bring rigor and consistency to how we measure Howdy across the U.S. and Mexico, accounting for market dynamics, and surface where the biggest growth opportunities lie
  • Diagnose the drivers: Go beyond the 'what' to the 'why', translating findings into clear business actions
  • Connect content to the business: Partner with Content and Recommendations teams to measure how discovery, merchandising, and title performance translate into signups, streaming hours, and retention
  • Build and own reporting: Develop scalable dashboards and reporting that give stakeholders a trusted view of Howdy health
  • Influence through storytelling: Deliver compelling dashboards, presentations, and narratives around Howdy performance, tailored for executive audiences
  • Close the data gaps: Work with Data Engineering and Product to identify and prioritize data gaps, so the metrics the business relies on are complete and trustworthy
  • Cross-functional leadership: Collaborate with Product, Content, Marketing, Finance, and Core Analytics to align Howdy insights with Roku's strategic goals
  • Champion a data-driven culture: Promote curiosity and insight as a foundation for Howdy's success across Roku

What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku?
  • 8+ years of professional experience in the Analytics & Insights space
  • Strong business acumen - you understand what drives a subscription business and can connect analysis to commercial outcomes and strategy
  • Genuine curiosity - you instinctively dig into the 'why' behind the numbers and aren't satisfied with surface-level answers
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills - able to translate complex analyses into executive-ready narratives and presentations
  • Strong Tableau skills, with the ability to build interactive dashboards that stakeholders rely on
  • Advanced analytical skills, including SQL expertise and comfort working with large, complex datasets
  • Strong modeling ability in Excel
  • Demonstrated AI fluency in analytical work - you treat AI as a default part of how you explore data and synthesize insights, and you can point to repeatable workflows you've built rather than one-off prompts
  • Experience with direct-to-consumer, SVOD, or subscription products - including funnel, retention, and lifetime value analysis - is a strong plus
  • Experience measuring a product distributed through multiple channels or third-party platforms is a plus
  • Experience working with international/multi-market data is a plus (regional nuance, cross-market comparability)
  • Comfortable working with incomplete or evolving data and partnering with engineering to improve it
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams around shared goals
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and prioritizing the highest-impact work in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about building lasting value for subscribers and the business
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related field (Economics, Business, Marketing, Analytics). MBA or advanced degree is a plus
