Qualifications

The Opportunity

The Plant and Process Engineering BIM Subject Matter Expert is responsible for working with and guiding the BIM Layout Leads, BIM Coordinators and Engineering Lead in the development and deployment of BIM-enabled design templates, procedures, and workflows that are scalable to meet program needs. BIM Subject Matter Experts provide industry experience and expertise to propose and develop automations and integrations that seek to streamline and integrate BIM design production while meeting the program's BIM requirements.

Your Impact
  • Developing technical solutions to real-world BIM/CAD design issues.
  • Train and utilize software tools such as OpenPlant Modeler, OpenPlant P&ID, BRCM, OpenBuildings Modeler, OpenRoads Designer, OpenGround and Generative Components where required to drive the development of the Managed WorkSpaces and Seed files.
  • Develop / lead development for automation for model / drawing creation, metadata population.
  • Develop / lead development for model QA/QC checking automation.
  • Lead the development of collaborative design workflows.
  • Lead the development of content management and cell libraries.
  • Communicate with necessary support teams to develop creative answers and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of standard BIM/CAD design processes, procedures, and methodologies to ensure consistency within a discipline across projects and aligned to program BIM processes, procedures, and requirements.
  • Provide insight and expertise on BIM processes, procedures, and requirements to project team members, including BIM Discipline Champions
  • Ensure discipline design team members are developing design models using standard BIM/CAD design processes, procedures, and methodologies including leading meetings, training to communicate requirements
  • Work with BIM Discipline Champions to develop BIM/CAD design processes, procedures, and methodologies that are efficient and scalable to large scale design teams
  • Ensure design teams populate (assign) object-element attribute data per standard BIM/CAD design processes, procedures, and methodologies are efficient and scalable to large scale design teams.
  • Troubleshoots BIM-related issues and/or coordinate support
  • Implement a consistent way of developing the design, working with the individual discipline design managers, BIM modellers and designers
  • Oversee and advice on automation practices
  • Advice on Best Practices for BIM design and Modelling
  • Ensure compliance to ethics and promote Zero Harm culture in the division

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122 900 - $162 800
MB & ON: $112 100 - $154 400
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111 000 - $147 400
