Full Job Description
About the Role

We are hiring a Studio General Manager to support the opening and ongoing success of a luxury social wellness club in New York City, as our Flagship to Arketa-powered studio owners.

What success looks like

We believe in setting our team up to thrive. Here's what your first year will look like:

First 30 days, Build the foundation: You'll hit the ground running by owning the studio launch from the ground up: partnering with our Ops leader about pre-sales and learning Arketa's platform inside and out. You'll also pitch in on a small portion of office management to get a feel for how we operate behind the scenes.

30-90 days - Build the business: Once the studio is live, the focus shifts to management and operations. You'll lead pre-sale membership planning, partner with our Lead Instructor to source and onboard instructors, and coordinate our soft launch - laying the groundwork for a thriving studio community.

6 months - 1 year, Run the studio: By this point, you'll be fully in the driver's seat. You'll manage a team that keeps the studio running day-to-day, coordinate instructor schedules, organize pop-up events and brand collaborations, and maintain a light load of office management responsibilities alongside it all.

This is a hands-on, hybrid role that blends:
  • Onsite Flagship studio management, leadership and hospitality
  • Office and environment management

You will play a critical role in launching and stabilizing a new studio. Our customers may visit our Flagship and you'll be the go-to-expert on launching, scaling and managing a studio through our state of the art tech. This role is ideal for someone who deeply understands how studios actually run and enjoys helping others run them better.

You will be in the studio, in the tools, and in the details.

What You'll Do
Studio Leadership & Guest Experience
  • Act as a visible, calm, and professional leader on the studio floor
  • Set the standard for luxury hospitality, warmth, and operational excellence
  • Ensure every guest interaction reflects brand values and consistency
  • Support front-of-house teams with real-time coaching and guidance
  • Resolve guest issues with empathy, clarity, and strong judgment
Sales, Membership & Business Support
  • Support membership acquisition, conversion, and retention efforts
  • Reinforce consultative, education-first sales conversations
  • Ensure studio teams are aligned on offers, pricing, and promotions
  • Monitor daily operational and revenue indicators and flag issues early
  • Help studios improve utilization and consistency through better systems, not just effort
Operations, Reliability & Compliance
  • Support scheduling, coverage planning, and shift readiness
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll inputs
  • Maintain operational standards across cleanliness, safety, and equipment
  • Document processes to reduce single-point dependency
  • Ensure compliance with NYC labor, safety, and operational requirements
Office & Environment Management (5-10% of your role)
  • Ensure the studio and office are consistently clean, organized, and guest-ready
  • Coordinate cleaning, maintenance, and vendors
  • Monitor inventory and place supply orders (studio, office, and amenities)
  • Order team lunches and manage hospitality logistics
  • Plan and support internal team events and moments
  • Maintain a seamless connection between office operations and studio needs
Why This Role Is Special
  • You'll help open and operate a flagship studio
  • You'll influence both in-person experience and backend systems
  • You'll have real ownership, visibility, and impact across the business
  • You'll have the best of both worlds: in-person studio connection and exposure to the team and tech who provide the tooling that makes it possible
Who You Are
  • 4-7+ years of experience in teaching in studios, studio management, wellness, or fitness
  • Thrive in ambiguity
  • Deep understanding of how studios run day-to-day (not just theoretically)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
  • Comfortable balancing people leadership with systems and process work
  • Strong communicator who is warm, direct, and practical
  • Excited to work deeply in operational tools
  • NYC-based and excited to be onsite and hands-on
Bonus:
  • You've driven significant customer acquisition during pre-sales and early days of launching a new studio

What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary and Stock Options
  • Comprehensive Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Wellness Reimbursement
  • Catered Lunches/Snacks in NYC
  • Ownership and Opportunity for Advancement

For this role, the estimated annual base salary range is $85,000 - $100,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications. We believe in compensating fairly and transparently, and we're happy to provide more detail during the interview process.
