EDC-Inc, a division of Haley Ward is looking for a
Land Surveyor / Project Manager. The function of the Land Surveyor / Project Manager is to plan, organize, and coordinate the activities of the project to best accomplish the successful completion of all projects to which assigned while operating within the guidelines established by the Regional Survey Manager and/or Division Director and within the policies and procedures established for project management.
Responsibilities
- Directs others toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective product for each individual project.
- Works closely with personnel from other departments as necessary to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements.
- Manages a project team and multiple projects.
- Manages contract budgets and estimates to completion and updates as conditions change. Communicates scope of work changes with clients, including project schedule and budget impacts, and requests client approval before authorizing or performing such out-of-scope work.
- Prepares project proposals including scope of work, time, and estimated manpower.
- Serves as a mentor and Supervisor (as assigned) for junior and mid-level staff.
- Maintains effective sales effort to achieve business development goals. Oversees productivity and performance of supervised staff. Works closely with Survey Division Director, Division Directors, Project Managers, the Marketing Director, and other staff to identify sales opportunities and to foster a culture of business development throughout the organization.
- Seeks and identifies new work associated with existing projects and clients. Cross-sells the services of other Divisions when the opportunity arises.
- Prepares project proposals including scope of work and schedules.
- Encouraged to take an active part in community affairs.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in both office and field settings. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions. Work hours are flexible and are subject to change based upon project schedules.
What you will need to succeed:- Minimum of bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of ten years of surveying experience.
- Ability to and interest in managing projects.
- A working knowledge of modern survey techniques, and computer programs is required.
- Registration as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) in Florida, or ability to attain within 6 months, is required.
- Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.
A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted.
Location: Stuart, FL - Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required)
