In this role, you will support the underwriting of a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of asset securitization transactions financed primarily through the asset-backed commercial paper market, working across auto, credit card, and unsecured consumer loan asset types. You will play a meaningful role in the full credit lifecycle, from initial deal screening through to post-closing portfolio management, partnering closely with senior Underwriters and the Origination team to assess risk and deliver sound credit decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Origination team to pre-screen new deal opportunities, conduct initial collateral analysis, and prepare preliminary financial assessments to support deal approval decisions.
  • Participate in due diligence sessions, documenting client and industry performance, financial trends, and collateral characteristics to inform credit recommendations.
  • Draft credit approval memoranda for senior Underwriter review and manage submission through internal approval workflows and risk governance processes.
  • Assess servicer reports for collateral eligibility, covenant compliance, and Borrowing Base coverage, identifying and escalating signs of deteriorating asset performance.
  • Validate Borrowing Base models for new transactions and subsequent amendments, ensuring accuracy and consistency across internal systems and databases.
  • Propose internal risk ratings, maintain scorecard updates, and monitor facility limits to ensure ongoing compliance with credit and institutional guidelines.
  • Prepare and present Quarterly Portfolio Reviews to business management and Risk stakeholders, synthesizing portfolio trends and key credit findings.
  • Coordinate with senior Underwriters and Audit management on audit scope, review timelines, and the resolution of exceptions identified through servicer audits.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment, manage competing priorities, and proactively escalate credit or operational risks as needed.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build, validate, and interpret financial models and structured data outputs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey credit analysis and risk findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • High attention to detail combined with a strong sense of ownership, enabling accurate and timely delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or Operations Research.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • Five to eight years of direct experience in Consumer ABS or securitization, with familiarity across asset types such as auto loans, credit cards, or unsecured consumer receivables.
  • Prior involvement in credit risk management within the financial services industry, including experience applying risk frameworks to structured lending or capital markets transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial data, prioritize effectively under time pressure, and deliver results in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
