Structural Engineer/Project Manager P5We have an exciting opportunity available for a dynamic Structural Engineer in our growing Madison, WI office. This opportunity offers exciting project challenges while managing design teams on single and multi-discipline projects. Projects include a wide variety of new commercial buildings in the areas of healthcare, education, multi-family, hospitality, and office, as well as analysis of existing buildings and renovation projects. Every project brings a new puzzle that requires creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This position offers the opportunity to become part of a well-established structural group.
Responsibilities include:- Project engineering and management including project oversight, setting priorities, and developing objectives, project financial management as well as hands-on involvement in the design process.
- Serving as a technical resource for Structural team members.
- Lead and participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, project interviews/presentations, and client management.
- Develop new business opportunities by strengthening relationships with existing clients and creating new client connections.
- Represent the firm at industry events, professional associations, and community activities to enhance visibility and market presence.
- Mentorship of less experienced staff members.
- Professional society involvement.
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Master's degree with a Structural focus is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience of professional experience in structural design of buildings. Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply.
- Abilities to mentor staff and successfully lead a project team is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Wisconsin. PE licenses in other Midwest states is a plus.
- Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members is necessary.
- Experience in Business development activities including proposal preparation, project interviews/presentations, and client management is preferred.
