Full Job Description
We're looking for a skilled Civil & Structure Engineer to join our amazing team in Calgary. If you are someone who takes their job seriously, but also has a great sense of humor, we want you on our team!

The role

As a forensic expert, you will:
  • Perform and manage structural failure investigations and determine root cause of the failure and damage to buildings, foundations, structures, and building envelope mechanisms.
  • Attend client meetings and on-site inspections, perform damage surveys and condition assessments.
  • Review technical documentation including drawings, standards, codes, regulations, material specifications, maintenance, modification records, etc. Perform Provincial Codes and Standards compliance analysis and reviews.
  • Gather evidence and determine circumstances surrounding the incident by capturing data, photographs, videos, and interviewing parties associated with the incident.
  • Safely secure evidence for further analysis, and presentation to client and/or in court if required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts on complex investigations.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, from preliminary findings to detailed technical documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, timelines, and client expectations are met.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
  • Participate in business development activities and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Always follow HSE guidelines, procedures, and policies. Ensure safety of self, others, and the assets.

What's in your bag?
  • University degree in Civil / Structural Engineering. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license.
  • 6+ years of experience in civil & structural (wood, concrete, steel) design, construction, condition assessment, failure investigations and analysis.
  • Experience in renovation or repair of existing buildings is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in building condition assessments is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong command of both oral and written communication including report writing in English.
  • Knowledge of the Construction Codes and Standards.
  • Ability to synthesize information, analyze, and solve problems.
