Position Overview: Structural Engineer

Integrus is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to provide technical and project leadership within our collaborative, multidisciplinary practice. This position will lead the structural design of new construction, renovations, seismic upgrades, and existing building evaluations across a variety of project types.

Working closely with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and consultants, the Structural Engineer will develop integrated solutions that balance structural performance, constructability, economy, and architectural design intent. This role will also provide mentorship to developing professionals, support project and financial management, and contribute to client relationships and business development.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Technical Leadership
  • Lead structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood building systems.
  • Provide technical leadership from conceptual design through construction administration.
  • Develop integrated structural solutions that support project goals, constructability, and architectural design intent.
  • Lead technical and quality reviews to ensure work complies with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and firm quality requirements.
  • Provide expertise in seismic design, renovations, retrofits, and evaluation of existing structures.

Project & Team Leadership
  • Serve as Project Manager and/or Structural Project Lead for projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables while proactively addressing project risks and coordination issues.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to structural engineers and emerging professionals.
  • Support workload planning, staff development, and continuous improvement of the structural engineering practice.

Collaboration & Client Relations
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients to develop coordinated design solutions.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsive communication, sound professional judgment, and consistent project delivery.
  • Participate in client meetings, design workshops, project presentations, and coordination meetings.
  • Clearly communicate structural concepts, design alternatives, and technical recommendations to project stakeholders.

Construction Administration
  • Lead structural construction administration, including submittal and shop drawing review, RFIs, field observations, and resolution of construction-related issues.
  • Prepare and coordinate structural drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and other technical documentation.
  • Respond to bidder and contractor questions and assist with addenda, clarifications, and supplemental documentation.

Business & Professional Development
  • Support business development through client relationships, networking, proposals, and project interviews.
  • Represent Integrus professionally within industry and community organizations.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving codes, technologies, materials, and structural engineering practices.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of professional ethics, integrity, accountability, and commitment to technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Experience with renovation, retrofit, and evaluation of existing structures preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, structural standards, construction practices, and project delivery.
  • Proficiency with Revit, RISA-3D, RAM, SAFE, and ETABS.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project scope, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining technical quality and project goals.


Salary Range

This position offers $115,000- $135,000 per year. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience and market.
