Job DescriptionThe OpportunityDesign What Comes NextJoin our Buildings team in Alberta and help bring complex structures to life. As a Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT), you'll contribute to the design and delivery of impactful buildings projects across commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and public sector environments. Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll develop your technical expertise while helping shape resilient, sustainable communities.
Your Impact- Support the structural design and analysis of buildings projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Assist with structural assessments, investigations, and rehabilitation projects.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and construction reviews to verify design intent and quality.
- Apply innovative and sustainable engineering practices that enhance building performance and community outcomes.
- Contribute to project coordination, scheduling, and technical deliverables while developing project management skills.
- Learn from senior engineers and pursue progressive growth toward Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
- Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or eligible for registration with APEGA.
- Experience with structural design software and engineering analysis tools.
- Familiarity with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry building design principles.
- Working knowledge of the Alberta Building Code and Canadian design standards.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to attend project sites as required.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $73,400 - $97,200
MB & ON: $67,000 - $92,200
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $66,300 - $88,000
