Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering; 6 years experience (MS=2 years, Ph.D.=4 years)
• Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, ASCE, ACI, AISC)
• Strong knowledge of solid mechanics principles
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Preferred: experience with ANSYS, LS-DYNA, STAAD.Pro
• Preferred: prior nuclear industry experience, especially with NRC
• Preferred: experience in stress analysis of pressure vessels and rotating equipment

Responsibilities

• Analyze various structures and systems for licensing and construction
• Transform ambiguous concepts into detailed designs through research and collaboration
• Prepare design documents and present updates to stakeholders
• Develop engineering and licensing documentation for nuclear structures
• Conduct static and dynamic finite element analyses using ANSYS
• Perform drop and impact analyses using LS-DYNA
• Simulate seismic responses of structures under various conditions
