Full Job Description
Position Overview

We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer licenced in the province of Ontario to join our growing building engineering team in Toronto. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of a wide range of building projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting senior engineers throughout all project phases.

You will play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, project coordination, and client satisfaction from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Delivery
  • Perform structural analysis and design for building projects (concrete, steel, masonry, cold formed steel, timber stick framed and mass timber structures)
  • Prepare calculations, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation
  • Develop structural drawings and models in collaboration with BIM/CAD teams
  • Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction

Project Coordination
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, mechanical, electrical)
  • Participate in project meetings, including design reviews and coordination sessions
  • Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables and junior staff

Site & Construction Support
  • Conduct site visits to review construction progress and verify compliance with design intent and produce reports
  • Effectively communicate directly with the general contractor
  • Identify and resolve field issues in collaboration with contractors and stakeholders
  • Support contract administration activities when required

Client Interaction
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and partners
  • Contribute to understanding client needs and delivering practical solutions
  • Support business development efforts through technical input when required


Qualifications & Experience

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering

Experience
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in building structural design (consulting engineering environment preferred)

Certifications
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (PEO)

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian design codes (NBCC, CSA, etc.) including familiarity with Part 4 and Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code
  • Experience in structural analysis and design software (e.g.SAP2000, SAFE, Woodworks, S-Pad, Forte, S-Concrete)
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and familiarity with AutoCAD; Revit familiarity considered an asset
  • Ability to read through and comprehend technical documents by suppliers and manufacturers

Salary range (total compensation) : $95 000,00 - $110 000,00 per year, with final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, scope of the role and geographic location.
