Full Job Description
OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a Structural DesignerII to join our Energy, Manufacturing, and Bioprocessing Business Unit. This position is full-time and located in our Ellicott City, Maryland office. A hybrid schedule will be supported.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Structural Designer supports the design and retrofit of industrial facilities in oil, gas, power, manufacturing, and bioprocessing facilities. The designer will be competent in 3-dimensional (3D) modeling of steel structures, foundations and equipment using AutoCAD based software.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of four (4) years of structural design experience.
  • Practical experience using AutoCAD, Advance Steel or REVIT.
  • 3-dimensional (3D) modeling using AutoCAD
  • 2-dimensional (2D) building layouts and detailing using AutoCAD.
  • Experience in production of structural plans, elevations, sections, and details for steel and concrete structures.
  • Familiar with commonly used structural steel detailing, concrete detailing, sheet layouts and shop drawing reviews.
  • Ability to read plans, pick up redlined drawings and notes, communicate with a lead engineer.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently to meet schedule demand.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
