As Worley continues to lead the transition toward a more sustainable world, the Structural Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with sustainability goals. This role is responsible for coordinating construction activities across diverse and complex energy, chemicals, and resources projects. By integrating planning with execution, the Structural Coordinator ensures that construction phases meet technical, environmental, and commercial requirements.
This is a critical position within a multidisciplinary delivery team, providing leadership and oversight across construction interfaces while helping to shape the future of project delivery at Worley.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee field construction activities across all phases of a project, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery aligned with Worley's commitment to sustainability.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project management, and customer teams to ensure readiness for construction and resolve constructability challenges.
- Support planning activities by providing practical construction insights during design, helping to shape schedules, work sequences, and resource requirements.
- Monitor on-site performance and progress, reporting on milestones, potential risks, and deviations from plan, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards across all construction activities, championing a strong safety-first culture.
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, ensuring alignment with technical specifications, schedule expectations, and site protocols.
- Provide field-level leadership and mentoring to construction crews and junior staff, supporting skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of construction-related documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, schedules, and progress reports.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in field execution methods, materials handling, logistics, and construction technologies.
- Support commissioning, handover, and close-out activities in coordination with operations and technical teams.
Education and Experience- University degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent trade qualifications with additional training and significant relevant experience.
- Demonstrated construction experience on major projects in the energy, chemicals, or resources industries, with a strong understanding of project lifecycle and sustainability drivers.
- Proven history of coordinating construction teams in dynamic environments, with a focus on safe and reliable project delivery.
Technical and Operational Proficiency- Deep understanding of construction practices, standards, and methodologies across multiple disciplines (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation).
- Strong awareness of interface management across engineering, procurement, and field construction.
- Working knowledge of systems and tools used in construction planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
Leadership and Collaboration- Effective coordination skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Confident decision-making with sound judgment, particularly in fast-paced or high-pressure construction environments.
- Excellent communication skills-verbal and written-with experience in preparing reports and contributing to stakeholder meetings.
