Job DescriptionYou will be the Stress Analysis Engineer - Level 2 for the F-35 Fuselage and MRB Stress Analysis Team which is responsible for delivering high-fidelity structural assessments that enable safe, reliable aircraft operation.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Stress Analysis Engineer - Level 2 you will be responsible for creating and evaluating structural models that support the F-35 fuselage and MRB repair processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create high-quality finite element model (FEM) meshes, post-process FEM results, and generate stress packages to support crack correlation for the service-life analysis team.
- Perform stress analysis on metallic materials, size detail parts, and assess the strength of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
- Support Production and Sustainment Material Review Board (MRB) repairs, ensuring discrepant parts or assemblies meet required strength standards.
- Conduct strength analysis to certify new and existing designs, size components, release drawings, and prepare analysis reports.
- Assist flight-test instrumentation efforts by performing strength assessments using air-vehicle FEM and spreadsheet stress analysis, providing data for service-life evaluation of new brackets and flight-test hardware.

Further Information About This OpportunityMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
- Experience with structural analysis of primary and secondary metallic airframe structure
Desired skills- Experience with free-body diagrams, classical hand calculations, Finite Element Modeling and Analysis including pre- and post-processing
- Experience using Linux and Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, and additional programing languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment
Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
