Job Description:

The Strategy Manager role will be responsible for positioning, articulating and operationalizing key ADSD initiatives. This role will serve in chief of staff capacity to the ADSD SVP and senior leadership team, driving alignment and enabling execution of top priorities, and shaping dealer-facing narrative for key distribution and performance initiatives.

What You Will Do:

This role will be planning and executing effective communications and engaging experiences across four key areas:
  • Drives leadership agendas through executive reviews, deep dives, and Senior Leadership Team meetings to ensure priorities are clear and actionable.
  • Translates leadership vision into strategic frameworks, measurable plans and guidance that align teams and drive execution.
  • Crafts strategic narratives, business visuals and messaging that support decisions and reinforce leadership intent.
  • Shapes executive presentations and proposals for clarity, consistency (messaging and design) and alignment with enterprise and legal standards.


Additional Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Sr Director of Strategy Execution and Finance ADSD, the incumbent will provide direct support to ADSD SVP and senior leadership team by providing strategic communications counsel and oversight of execution for internal and external speaking engagements, messaging and presentation materials, meetings, etc.
  • Plan and coordinate effective, productive senior leadership staff meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Plan and coordinate strategic execution messaging for executive reviews on a quarterly basis.
  • Lead, cultivate and collaborate with various leaders and departments to create relevant, engaging and powerful content that elevates ADSD's brand and purpose through internal and external communication channels and via engagement opportunities


What You Will Have (Basic Requirements):
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field, or the equivalent of 15 years in on-the-job experience with relevant strategy experience
Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
Visioning: Understanding of the value of articulating an intended business outcome and ability to create and communicates a vision of the organization that motivates others to superior performance.
Stakeholder Management: Knowledge of stakeholder management techniques; ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage with them.
Level Extensive Experience:
Consulting Process & Tools: Knowledge of consulting process; ability to engage in planning sales, conducting research and analysis, finding solutions and preparing recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications/ Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to a diverse audience
  • Proven project-management skills and ability to manage and prioritize between tactical operations and strategic large-scale changes; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured and ambiguous environment
  • Strategic thinker with the courage to make recommendations based on available data and best practices
  • Experience using a variety of communication tools, including social and digital platforms as part of a channel management strategy
  • Ability to collaborate and work with a diverse group of individuals and effectively impact decisions with executives and internal or external partners within and outside own organization
  • Ability to utilize relevant tools, techniques and a variety of media for organizational communications; copywriting and editing; ability to write and convey concepts in a visual/graphical manner, etc.

Summary Pay Range:

$159,120.00 - $238,680.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
