Vice President, Strategic InitiativesPosition OverviewThe Vice President, Strategic Initiatives will serve as a key member of the CIO Strategy & Insights team, leading the planning, coordination, and execution of high-priority initiatives.
This individual will function as the central project manager and strategic coordinator for the team's portfolio of initiatives, ensuring effective execution across stakeholders, timely delivery of milestones, and clear communication to senior leadership. The role will be responsible for establishing project governance, maintaining business requirements, monitoring progress against strategic objectives, and driving alignment across the team's priorities and workstreams.
Current responsibilities include oversight of strategic initiatives, AI-related programs and governance, content distribution, executive communications, and cross-functional business initiatives. As strategic priorities evolve, the role will adapt to support new initiatives across the CIO organization.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously while partnering effectively with senior leaders, technology teams, product partners, and business stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Initiative Management- Serve as the project manager for key strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, governance structures, and status reporting.
- Coordinate activities across business, technology, product, marketing, compliance, legal, and risk partners.
- Track decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items to ensure successful execution.
- Prepare executive-ready project updates and progress reports.
- Drive accountability across stakeholders to ensure delivery against strategic objectives.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define, document, and maintain business requirements for strategic programs and platform enhancements.
- Facilitate working sessions to gather requirements, document business needs, and translate strategic objectives into actionable workstreams.
- Monitor implementation against documented requirements and escalate risks, issues, or scope changes as appropriate.
- Maintain centralized documentation, project artifacts, governance materials, and program records throughout the lifecycle of each initiative.
- Ensure project deliverables, requirements, and governance standards remain current and aligned with business objectives.
Strategic Planning & Initiative Reporting- Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio view of CIO Strategy & Insights initiatives, ensuring alignment with team priorities and broader Wealth Management objectives.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators, success metrics, milestones, and reporting frameworks across strategic programs.
- Create executive dashboards and reporting materials that provide visibility into initiative progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
- Partner with team leadership to prioritize initiatives, identify resource needs, and drive execution against strategic goals.
- Support annual planning, strategic reviews, and business planning processes.
- Synthesize insights, recommendations, and progress updates for CIO leadership and key stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent communication and alignment across initiatives to drive transparency and accountability.
Leadership Support & Executive Communications- Lead the management of the Weekly Sales Call, including site maintenance, communications, speaker coordination, approvals, and overall meeting execution.
- Develop communications, presentations, briefing materials, and executive updates for senior management.
- Translate complex initiatives into concise, actionable updates for executive audiences.
- Prepare leadership presentations, strategic updates, and reporting materials for business reviews and senior stakeholder meetings.
- Support leadership communications related to key initiatives, business priorities, and organizational objectives.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, strategic initiatives, business management, consulting, wealth management, financial services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Strong executive communication and presentation development capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and project management tools.
- Experience developing project plans, maintaining business requirements, and managing governance processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
Preferred- Experience within Wealth Management, Asset Management, Investment Strategy, or a Chief Investment Office environment.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled business tools and governance frameworks.
- Experience working across Technology, Product, Compliance, Legal, and Risk organizations.
- Experience supporting executive-level communications and strategic planning processes.
- PMP certification and/or MBA preferred.
