Position Title: Director, Strategy & Corporate Development

Location: Remote, must be located in the US and be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time

Position Overview

The Strategy & Corporate Development Director, will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and advancing strategic growth opportunities for One Inc. This individual will lead rigorous quantitative analysis across organic and inorganic initiatives, including product expansion, strategic partnerships, adjacent market opportunities, and M&A. The role requires a highly analytical and commercially minded leader who can develop robust business cases, build prioritization frameworks, and translate complex market, financial, and competitive data into clear recommendations for senior leadership.

This position will also play a key role in One Inc's market and competitive intelligence efforts, maintaining an ongoing pulse on the insurance, payments, insurtech, and fintech landscape to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and companies with capabilities that could strengthen One Inc's product offering, market position, or strategic roadmap.

The Director will support end-to-end corporate development activity, including target identification, opportunity screening, diligence coordination, transaction support, and post-close integration planning. This individual will work cross-functionally across the organization and in close coordination with One Inc's private equity sponsor organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Analysis, Prioritization, and Business Case Development
  • Develop data-driven business cases for strategic initiatives across both organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Perform quantitative analyses including market sizing, scenario modeling, sensitivity analyses, ROI, and investment prioritization.
  • Build decision-making frameworks to assess and rank opportunities based on strategic fit, financial return, complexity, and long-term value.
  • Pressure test assumptions using internal performance data, external benchmarks, customer insights, and market research.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate new products, adjacencies, partnerships, acquisitions, and other strategic investments.

Market, Business & Competitive Intelligence
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts, monitoring competitors, industry developments, and emerging market dynamics.
  • Monitor ecosystem developments including funding, technology, and customer adoption
  • Conduct and synthesize research, leveraging market data, industry publications, benchmarks, expert perspectives, and internal insights.
  • Apply strategic frameworks e.g. market mapping, benchmarking, SWOT analyses, and identify competitive differentiators, strategic risks, white space opportunities, and potential defensive or offensive actions.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations on risks, opportunities, and strategic actions

Corporate Development and Opportunity Evaluation
  • Help identify and evaluate long-term growth opportunities across the insurance, payments, and broader fintech ecosystem.
  • Source and assess potential acquisition, investment, and partnership targets that align with One Inc's strategic priorities.
  • Build target lists and develop investment and partnership theses supported by market, financial, strategic, and competitive analysis.
  • Support initial opportunity screening, company diligence, strategic rationale, market context, and economic return into recommendations
  • Contribute to portfolio strategy, build, partner, buy assessments

M&A Process Development and Deal Support
  • Help develop and institutionalize a repeatable M&A playbook for One Inc, covering opportunity evaluation, diligence, transaction execution, integration planning, and post-close value capture.
  • Support the creation of tools and frameworks that enable more rigorous and scalable assessment of strategic opportunities.
  • Support M&A and strategic partnership processes from initial evaluation through execution and post-close integration.
  • Coordinate internal workstreams related to financial analysis, strategic assessment, diligence, stakeholder alignment, and integration planning.


Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in banking, consulting, private equity, corporate development, or strategy
  • Proven ability to build rigorous business cases and prioritize strategic initiatives
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and scenario/sensitivity analysis experience
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize complex information, and deliver actionable recommendations
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to executive and board-level audiences
  • Experience in market research and competitive intelligence; familiarity with leveraging AI
  • Ability to evaluate product expansion, partnerships, and M&A opportunities with a focus on strategic fit and returns
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and effective in fast-paced environments
  • Experience in insurance, payments, fintech, or insurtech preferred
