Responsibilities

Peraton Labs is seeking a Strategic Technical & Analytics Communications Lead to support the BNATCS CTO in conducting rigorous analytical review, developing trusted decision-support products, and translating complex technical and analytical findings into clear, credible communications for stakeholders across Peraton, FAA BNATCS, and government leadership.

This role requires hands-on comfort with data, analytical reasoning, and technical subject matter. Within the role you must be able to independently explore information, assess the credibility of AI-generated or system-generated outputs, validate findings against available evidence, and shape those findings into clear, decision-ready products for senior program stakeholders.

This isn’t a traditional communications-only role, and instead sits at the intersection of technical analysis, AI-enabled decision support, executive communication, visualization strategy, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate for this position will understand how to frame the right operational questions, interrogate complex information, apply structured analytical judgment, and communicate findings with clarity, accuracy, and strategic awareness.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how highly technical, AI-enabled, and analytically driven work is understood by the people making critical decisions. You will help ensure that complex program realities are communicated with clarity, credibility, discipline, and judgment.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Conduct Structured Analysis – Conduct rigorous, structured analysis of technical, operational, and programmatic information using agentic AI tools, quantitative frameworks, and evidence-based reasoning to explore emerging patterns, develop findings, and support senior stakeholder decision-making
  • Validate AI Outputs – Review, validate, interpret, and refine AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate sourcing before incorporation into briefings, dashboards, reports, or other stakeholder-facing products
  • Deliver Decision-Ready Communications – Translate complex technical and analytical findings into clear, credible communication products – including executive briefings, analytical summaries, dashboard narratives, and talking points – that accurately reflect the underlying data and program context
  • Architect Dashboard & Visualization Strategy – Design and structure dashboards and data visualizations with clear narrative logic, analytical rigor, and presentation flow, developing multiple views of the same underlying information tailored to technical, executive, operational, and policy-aware audiences
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with program leadership, data teams, AI/ML teams, and subject matter experts to ensure products are accurate, context-aware, and audience-appropriate
  • Apply Editorial & Strategic Judgment – Maintain strong editorial discipline and strategic awareness in high-visibility environments where precision, timing, and credibility directly affect stakeholder confidence and program outcomes
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 16+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 14+ years, or PhD with 10+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, operations research, applied statistics, systems engineering, technical communications, strategic communications, public policy analysis, or a related analytical or technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex technical, analytical, or scientific information into clear products for senior decision-makers and mixed audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work with data-driven or analytically derived information, including the ability to assess findings, identify gaps, validate outputs, and communicate conclusions responsibly
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings, analytical narratives, dashboards, visualization strategies, reports, or other decision-support products
  • Experience supporting tiered stakeholder audiences spanning technical, executive, operational, and policy-aware communities
  • Strong judgment in evaluating whether dashboards, data views, analytical summaries, or AI-generated outputs are accurate, complete, properly framed, and ready for distribution
  • Ability to define the purpose, audience, analytical question, and decision logic behind communication and dashboard products prior to execution
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams while maintaining accountability for analytical clarity and communication quality
  • Strong writing, editing, briefing, synthesis, and stakeholder communication skills
  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain an FAA Public Trust suitability
  • Must be local to and able to commute to one of the following on-site locations: Herndon, VA; Annapolis Junction, MD; or Bowie, MD

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting AI-enabled, agentic, machine learning, data science, research, or advanced technology organizations
  • Experience translating technical and analytical outputs from engineers, researchers, analysts, or AI/ML teams into executive-ready products
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content generation, human-in-the-loop validation, and responsible review of AI-generated outputs
  • Experience with dashboarding strategy, executive visualization, data storytelling, or decision-support communications
  • Background in FAA, DOT, DoW, congressional, or other high-visibility public sector communication environments
  • Experience navigating politically aware stakeholder environments where communication quality, timing, and precision are critical
