Job Description

Overview: Executes Strategic Sourcing Projects, Contract Management, Supplier Performance and Relationship Management Programs, and overall Supply Chain Process Improvements.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Analyze spend data to determine opportunities for total cost reduction in specific spend categories.
  • Execute sourcing initiatives through implementation, including all direct and indirect spend categories including post award contract management.
  • Contribute to the administration of a Strategic Supplier Performance and Relationship Management Program.
  • Ensure Supplier contract compliance and resolve open issues.
  • Provide quarterly market updates to forecast and mitigate market disruptions.
  • Utilize sound cost modeling to determine negotiation strategies to obtain optimal contract outcome
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement culture through process standardization, regular metric review and process updates.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Sourcing KPI's, ensure accurate measurement of KPI's, and report out as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with preferred suppliers, negotiate with suppliers to reach mutually beneficial solutions.


Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to:
  • Perform all assigned duties.
  • Utilize creativity, analytical skills and judgement to solve problems and drive down total cost of ownership and improve Supplier performance (with supervision).
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate above average written, verbal communication and presentation skills needed to influence without direct authority.
  • Understand of commercial and legal terms and conditions and the ability to negotiate.
  • Effectively interact with internal customers and upper management to ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Demonstrate solid organizational skills and prioritize work to meet deadlines with direction from supervisor.
  • Excellent data analytical skills and use of Microsoft Office products required.


Knowledge:
  • Knowledge in the field of supply chain management concepts, practices, and procedures supplier management strategies.
  • Experience with Category Management and Strategic Sourcing methodologies and application preferred
  • Mechanical, rotating equipment, or industrial manufacturing category management or strategic sourcing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP system (i.e. Oracle/SAP/JD Edwards) preferred.


Minimum Education and Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (i.e. Business/Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering) required.


Minimum Experience:
  • Typically at least 5 years' related experience in a supply chain or related role.


Leadership:
  • Expected to serve as a resource to others for knowledge transfer, training and checking work.
    • May occasionally lead a team.
    • Expected to be able to influence others within and outside of the Supply Chain team.
