As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders by leading high-impact sourcing initiatives that drive enterprise value. You'll partner across the organization to develop sourcing and negotiation strategies, optimize BECU's vendor portfolio, and help business leaders navigate complex purchasing decisions with confidence. Your work will directly influence how BECU acquires technology, professional services, and other critical business solutions that enable our long-term strategic priorities.

This role is about much more than running RFPs. You'll influence executive stakeholders, develop category strategies, negotiate complex commercial agreements, reduce costs, and strengthen enterprise partnerships. Working within BECU's evolving Vendor Management Office (VMO), you'll collaborate closely with Legal, Vendor Risk, Finance, and business leaders to deliver thoughtful sourcing solutions while continuously improving how we operate.

If you're energized by solving complex business challenges, building strong relationships, and creating long-term value through strategic sourcing, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple indirect spend categories, with a strong emphasis on technology, SaaS, and professional services.

  • Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that align business objectives with enterprise priorities while optimizing cost, value, and supplier performance.

  • Partner with executive stakeholders and business leaders to understand current and future business needs, providing strategic guidance throughout the sourcing lifecycle.

  • Manage competitive sourcing events including RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, renewals, and direct negotiations for engagements ranging from routine purchases to complex, multi-million-dollar initiatives.

  • Develop category strategies by leveraging spend analytics, market intelligence, supplier research, and industry trends to optimize BECU's vendor portfolio.

  • Evaluate commercial proposals and negotiate business terms while partnering closely with Legal on contract language and Vendor Risk on third-party risk assessments.

  • Collaborate with Vendor Risk, Contracts, Finance, Information Security, Privacy, and business teams to ensure sourcing decisions align with enterprise governance and regulatory expectations.

  • Help strengthen and mature BECU's Vendor Management Office by identifying process improvements, solving operational challenges, and advancing sourcing best practices.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

This isn't just about ticking off tasks on a list. It's about making a significant, positive change in BECU's journey, where your contributions are valued, and your growth is continually fostered.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

  • The opportunity to influence enterprise-wide sourcing strategies and vendor partnerships that support one of the nation's largest credit unions.

  • Exposure to executive leaders while serving as a trusted advisor on high-impact sourcing initiatives across multiple business functions.

  • The opportunity to lead diverse sourcing engagements ranging from technology modernization initiatives to enterprise-wide professional services partnerships.

  • Experience helping shape and mature a growing Vendor Management Office where your ideas and process improvements will have lasting impact.

  • A collaborative environment where you'll partner closely with Legal, Vendor Risk, Finance, and business leaders to solve complex business challenges.

  • Opportunities to expand your expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, negotiation, and enterprise vendor strategy.
