Strategic Sales Executive - $200k+ Compensation

Strategic Sales Executive
Compensation: Salary up to $170k
Bonus: Up to $70k
Work Environment: Remote


My client is a powerhouse in the Virginia and surrounding markets providing group health coverage to over 800,000 members. They offer a full suite of commercial products including employee-owned and employer-sponsored plans, as well as Individual and Family health plans.

This role is remote, but the successful candidate must reside near the Richmond or Virginia Beach area.

The Opportunity:
  • Established insurance carrier in Virginia and East Coast region.
  • Work with your broker counterparts to pursue leads and close new business.
  • Opportunity to build and grow a lucrative sales territory
  • Key Alliances = Market Dominance
  • Salary between $150k - $170k w additional bonus potential.
  • Bonus up to $70k annually
  • Opportunity to coach/mentor, and manage on sales direct report

Job Summary

Responsible for client's new business sales and broker/consultant business development efforts in the large group business segment in accordance with channel and opportunity alignment. Use consultative, strategic sales approach to achieve assigned business objectives. Communicate with and present to senior level executives, decision makers and key influencers.

Develop formal opportunity profiles that include key influencer strategies for each prospective customer, a competitive analysis summary and a value proposition tailored to reflect knowledge of the prospect and Client's current and emerging capabilities.

Effectively articulate how Client's capabilities can contribute to constituents (Plan Sponsor, School Board, City Council, C-suite, etc.) long-term strategies. Manage complex and extended negotiations. Manage the Broker relationship and knowledge transfer to Client Management team at the appropriate time in sales process. Support strategic growth initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years related experience required or Associate's degree and 9 years related experience required or HS graduate and 11 years related experience.
  • Related years of experience includes Business Acumen, Customer Relation, leadership, Health Insurance Industry, Employee Benefits, Sales Representative or related field.
  • Must have a L&H or obtain one within 90 days of hire.
