Description
The distance between a commander's intent and a functional requirement a program can build against is where joint capabilities succeed or stall. The Red Gate Group is seeking a Strategic Requirements Consultant to support a Department of Defense intelligence customer, translating commander's intent and strategic objectives into actionable functional requirements for a joint intelligence capability. You will work directly with senior military leadership across the Services and Combatant Commands, engaging credibly with flag officers, senior executives, and their staffs and synthesizing complex, sometimes conflicting inputs into operationally relevant technical terms.
You will bridge high level operational needs and technical implementation, tracing requirements from strategic guidance through operational concepts to specific capability needs and keeping them aligned across all three levels. Along the way you will apply systems engineering principles and requirements management methodologies so the requirements you produce remain realistic within programmatic and budgetary constraints.
You Have
• 8+ years of experience in requirements engineering, defense planning, or IT strategy consulting, including recent experience within the last 2 years. This experience requirement is firm and cannot be met through education or certifications.
• Master's degree in a related field, or one of the following in its place: an Associate's degree in a related field and 4 additional years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 additional years of relevant experience, or 6 additional years of relevant experience. The additional years used in place of the degree are on top of the 8 year experience requirement above, not counted within it.
• Deep knowledge of how the military Services and Geographic and Functional Combatant Commands organize, plan, and execute operations
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current CI polygraph
