Strategic Procurement Manager
This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with a requirement that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.
Job Description:HPE is seeking a Senior Procurement Professional to lead the management of complex global commodities and categories. This role has a direct impact on cost optimization, supply assurance, and strategic supplier partnerships across the enterprise. The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert, influencing procurement strategy and advising senior leadership on risk, contracting, and marketplace trends. The preferred candidate brings deep procurement expertise, strong negotiation capabilities, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a global environment.
Job Description:Key Responsibilities:- Lead a complex global supply chain sub-category, including data and industry analysis, and report results to senior management.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with stakeholder business priorities across moderately complex marketplace categories.
- Drive supplier selection activities, supply base optimization, and strategic supplier development.
- Negotiate and execute contracts with complex suppliers, identifying and mitigating contract risk areas.
- Manage day-to-day operations and performance of large, moderately complex suppliers.
- Assess current and evolving business models in the marketplace and provide input on risk mitigation, business continuity, and cost management strategies.
- Advise senior business leaders on contract risk areas and negotiate acceptable outcomes using proven solutions.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in a procurement or supply chain function.
- Demonstrated expertise in global procurement processes and moderately complex supplier management.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close complex deals in a timely fashion.
- Proficiency in business applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, and supply chain modeling tools.
- Experience leading international or cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English required; local language proficiency as applicable.
Knowledge and Skills:- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
- Deep understanding of contracting principles, procurement tools, and supply chain strategy.
- Ability to apply cause-and-effect thinking to identify and resolve challenging contract risk areas.
