The Scientific Communication Strategic Partnership Manager defines and leads the local strategic partnership plan, represents and promotes Royal Canin offer of products and services through partnerships and educational events developed with Key Opinion Leaders, Pet Health Organizations and Associations, Veterinary Teaching Institutions and Key Accounts.

This role directly supports the overall vision of establishing and enhancing relationships with Canadian partnership groups, promoting competency in nutrition for targeted veterinary and animal care professionals.

What are we looking for?
  • DVM (or equivalent) with active license in province of residence.
  • Industry or Veterinary Association-related experience is necessary.
  • Certificate in Adult Education and/or training experience highly desirable.
  • MBA or other business credential an asset.
  • 8+ years' experience in small animal practice, teaching, and/or industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Extensive PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, +/- CRM).
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable vehicle.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Drive Scientific Thought Leadership through high level education and mutual partnerships with key stakeholders related to our business. The Scientific Communication Strategic Partnership Manager:
  • Develop and lead the execution of mutual strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders, Pet Health Organizations and Associations, Veterinary Teaching Institutions, Key Accounts and/or continuing education organizations.
  • In conjunction with Key Account managers, work to develop a strategic partnership plan to support key accounts for educational content and scientific knowledge related to pet nutrition. Ensure that educational and scientific resources are provided and that a partnership plan is developed to support the veterinary teams and drive nutritional recommendations. Be the first point of contact for the group's leadership team and medical directors regarding scientific resources and educational content or work closely with Key Account Managers depending on the partners.
  • Develop and maintain a Network of professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders of all Pillars by keeping them informed of Royal Canin Research and Development, nurturing a selected group of KOLs for speaking opportunities and connecting with specific KOL groups to promote education and better patient care around selected topic expertise. Spearhead strategic mapping of robust KOL programs; produce and coordinate general KOL communications about launches or significant innovations. Responsible for timely and accurate payment of vendors, including new vendor creation and management.
  • In conjunction with the local scientific communications associates, develop and maintain sponsorship opportunities at veterinary teaching institutions (including veterinary and veterinary technician schools) that help support student learning and development related to nutrition. Oversee the development and execution of a robust student ambassador program at Canadian veterinary schools, including appropriate on-boarding and training. In conjunction with local scientific communications associates, execute training programs at schools that align with business priorities and initiatives.
  • Deliver nutrition training to high priority audiences. The educational activities offered can take any form including but not limited to the creation of training programs, video series, standalone initiatives (e.g. conferences, workshops, one-time meetings) offered virtually or in person. Partnership can also include support through access to specific scientific resources (e.g. NA program), support through sponsorship or knowledge sharing or enhancement of internal scientific activities or programs.
  • Adhere to the Responsibility principle by liaising with Commercial and Legal teams in North American to ensure compliance to Mars governance processes.
