Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Strategic Marketing Lead is a full-time, 4-month temporary position responsible for designing, piloting, and documenting a marketing operating framework that the internal marketing team can own following the engagement. Candidates must be willing to work West Coast hours to ensure strong partnership with stakeholders.

Working closely with the Senior Director of Marketing, Business Development, executive leadership, and subject matter experts, you will organize Teague's expertise, case studies, thought leadership, strategic priorities, and business development needs into a clear, repeatable marketing system.

This is not a traditional demand generation or campaign management role. Success will be measured by your ability to create clarity, establish repeatable processes, develop strategic marketing assets, and leave behind a framework that supports long-term growth.

Travel Expectations

Occasional domestic and international travel to support client and/or vendor projects or meetings.

WHO YOU ARE:

You're a master builder with a designer's eye - equal parts craftsman and creative problem-solver. You thrive in hands-on environments where ideas move fast and precision matters. Whether you're interpreting CAD drawings or bringing a napkin sketch to life, you have the technical skills and intuitive judgment to build with excellence.

You're fluent in working with materials like wood, metal, foam, and composites, and you understand how to pivot seamlessly between prototypes and polished presentations. Collaboration energizes you-you enjoy working alongside designers, engineers, and clients to troubleshoot, refine, and execute builds that push boundaries.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

OWNING:

Marketing Strategy & Planning
  • Assess Teague's current marketing, content, and business development efforts.
  • Develop a repeatable marketing operating framework that connects service offerings, strategic themes, proof points, buyer needs, business development priorities, and marketing activities.
  • Build an annual marketing planning framework that aligns marketing investments with business objectives.
  • Create practical decision-making frameworks that help prioritize marketing initiatives and investments.

THINKING:

Content Strategy & Thought Leadership
  • Identify content opportunities and gaps across Teague's service offerings and strategic growth priorities.
  • Develop a content architecture that connects thought leadership, case studies, proof points, and business development needs.
  • Transform existing project work and expertise into reusable marketing assets.
  • Create executive briefings, insight articles, account-focused materials, and other strategic marketing content.

DOING:

Business Development Enablement
  • Design practical approaches for distributing marketing assets throughout long-cycle, relationship-driven business development efforts.
  • Develop playbooks for executive engagement, event follow-up, strategic account support, and thought leadership distribution.
  • Pilot account engagement approaches with the Business Development team and refine recommendations based on results.

Capability Building
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews with leadership, subject matter experts, and Business Development.
  • Develop templates, governance, and documentation that support ongoing execution.
  • Train the internal marketing team on the operating framework and supporting tools.
  • Present recommendations and progress to executive leadership throughout the engagement.

SUCCESS INDICATORS:
  • By the end of the engagement, Teague will have:
  • A documented marketing operating framework.
  • A visual marketing architecture connecting service offerings, strategic themes, proof points, target accounts, marketing activities, and business development.
  • A 12-month marketing operating plan.
  • A content architecture and editorial roadmap.
  • Business development engagement and distribution playbooks.
  • A pilot library of reusable marketing assets.
  • Templates, documentation, and training materials that enable the internal marketing team to own and evolve the framework.

WHAT YOU BRING:
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic B2B marketing, professional services marketing, consulting, or marketing leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience building marketing operating models, strategic planning frameworks, content architectures, or business development enablement programs.
  • Experience supporting relationship-driven business development within consulting, engineering, architecture, design, aerospace, defense, industrial, or similarly complex B2B organizations strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interviewing, facilitation, writing, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong systems-thinking, organizational, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex technical expertise into compelling business narratives.
  • Experience working with HubSpot or comparable CRM platforms.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
