Full Job Description
Strategic Data Analyst, Growth & Placement

Austin, TX | Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite 4 days per week)

Note: This is a full-time role. We do not offer C2C or C2H employment and are not able to sponsor visas for this position.

The Role

Acrisure's Growth & Placement Analytics team supporting the executive leadership of our North America Insurance business operates at the intersection of data and business strategy, translating complex data assets into decisions that drive revenue and operational performance. As a Strategic Data Analyst on the Growth & Placement analytics pod, you will work directly alongside a small, high-visibility team that serves Acrisure's most senior executive stakeholders - including members of the C-suite.

This is an analyst role first, but not a narrow one. You will be expected to go beyond what the data says and communicate what it means: surfacing critical nuances, articulating data limitations with precision, and connecting analytical findings to Acrisure's business priorities. Your outputs will range from executive-facing decks and written narratives to self-service dashboards, often in the same week.

Alongside your analytical work, you will also engage meaningfully with the technical layer beneath your insights. Acrisure is investing significantly in its data infrastructure, most visibly through the adoption of Palantir Foundry as our enterprise analytics and application platform - and you will be an active contributor to how the underlying data assets are shaped, modeled, and made trustworthy. You should be as comfortable extending a dbt model or a Palantir Ontology object as you are drafting an executive memo. If you view the boundary between analytics and analytics engineering as porous rather than fixed, you will thrive here.

This is a growth-stage role on a team that is still defining how it operates. You will have meaningful influence over how the function takes shape, and you will report closely enough to executive leadership that your work will be visible from day one.

How You'll Drive Impact
  • Translate complex, multi-source datasets into concise executive narratives that communicate not just findings but implications and data limitations - giving leadership the context to act with confidence.
  • Develop and maintain analytical deliverables including executive-facing presentations, insight memos, and self-service dashboards, calibrating the format to the audience and urgency of the question.
  • Write sophisticated queries against Palantir Foundry Ontology to extract, transform, and validate data from core operational tables and dbt models.
  • Contribute to the analytics engineering layer that underpins your work: extend dbt models where needed, help stand up new data pipelines, and shape how Palantir Foundry is used to surface insights across the team.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders, including the Chief Strategy Officer, Head of Revenue, and other executive leads to understand their data questions, pressure-test assumptions, and deliver analysis that earns trust.
  • Uphold data modeling best practices in the work you touch: clear documentation, version control via Git, incremental build strategies, and data quality validation.
  • Identify gaps and inconsistencies in data and proactively surface them rather than papering over them - intellectual honesty is a core expectation of this role.
  • Leverage AI tools (Claude, Palantir AI FDE, Gemini, and others) to accelerate both analytical and engineering work, while applying rigorous critical evaluation to any AI-generated output before it informs a business decision or ships to production.

You May Be a Fit If You Have
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a strategy-adjacent analytics role.
  • Strong command of SQL you are comfortable writing complex queries involving window functions, CTEs, and multi-table joins, and you can read and debug queries you didn't write.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt or Palantir for data modeling - you understand the mechanics of models, tests, documentation, and incremental materialization strategies - or equivalent data modeling experience in another modern data warehouse environment.
  • Comfort working with a modern cloud data warehouse.
  • A demonstrable ability to communicate analytical findings to non-technical executive audiences - in writing, in decks, and in conversation.
  • The intellectual honesty to say 'the data doesn't fully answer this question, and here's why' and to make that observation useful rather than deflating.
  • Experience with a BI or visualization tool (Tableau, Power BI).
  • A genuine interest in learning Palantir Foundry and the intellectual openness to develop deep expertise as part of your growth on the team.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity with a small, fast-moving team where the scope of your role will evolve as the function matures.
  • A skeptic's relationship with AI tools - you use them, you benefit from them, but you verify their outputs rather than accepting them at face value.
  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have
  • Direct experience with Palantir Foundry, even tangential exposure is valued.
  • Python proficiency, particularly for data transformation, pipeline orchestration, or scripting.
  • Exposure to insurance, financial services, or other complex B2B commercial environments.
  • Prior experience presenting findings directly to senior leadership audiences.
  • Exposure to agile development practices, Git-based workflows, and project tracking tools like Jira.
