Full Job Description
As a Strategic Buyer, you will be a key part of the Global Supply Chain & Procurement team within Operations. You will thrive at the intersection of long-term vision and daily execution, helping to create a supply base that can scale. The Buyer will collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, manage inventory levels, and streamline purchasing processes. Your organizational skills and ability to build strong relationships will be essential as you oversee purchase orders, delivery schedules, and product costs. You will also go beyond transactional purchasing activities to actively manage supplier relationships, supply risks, business escalations, and cross-functional priorities. In this role, you'll be responsible for:
  • Monitoring and managing purchase orders (POs), inventory levels and delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  • Identifying and implementing scalable procurement processes to weather supply chain volatility as our global footprint expands.
  • Driving global pricing strategy and commodity index analysis while navigating geopolitical risks to optimize pricing structures and protect margin profitability.
  • Establishing risk mitigation strategies, including geographic diversification and tariff impact analysis, to ensure supply chain resilience.
  • Setting up and managing vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs, negotiating MOQs and leading end of life (EOL) management of obsolescence materials and components inventory.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and developing new suppliers and resource pools.
  • Managing supplier communications to review delivery schedules and key activities for assigned materials, suppliers and new product development projects (NPD).
  • Analyzing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), influencing design-to-cost initiatives during the NPD phase.
  • Running supplier reviews (QBRs), maintaining and reviewing lead times, MOQs, expedites on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Running RFQs/RFPs and negotiating contracts including NDAs, SOWs, price sheets with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, MOQ, lead times and terms & conditions.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant procurement regulations and policies.

Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in buying, purchasing or supply chain roles. Experience working with electronics components or in device manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient in ERP systems.
  • Familiar with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of CM/ODM/OEM/COTS, price negotiations, and purchase order creation and management.
  • Experience driving supply chain efficiencies using artificial intelligence (AI) (Copilot, Claude, Gemini, etc.).
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000. We determine final compensation based on discussions with applicants and their experience in similar roles.
