Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Strategic Behavioral Assessment and Influence Analyst to support mission-critical programs through advanced quantitative and qualitative assessments of the Information Environment (IE). The ideal candidate will blend strong analytic skills with foundational knowledge in influence, behavior-change assessment, or PSYOP/Information Operations. Candidates with robust research and data analysis experience will receive training on specialized frameworks such as the Assess and Influence Process and the Hierarchy of Psychological Effects Model (HPEM). This role offers a unique opportunity to make measurable impact by evaluating psychological effects on target audiences, assessing program effectiveness, and shaping influence strategies at operational and strategic levels.

HOW A STRATEGIC BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT AND INFLUENCE ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Operational Analysis & Target Audience Assessment
  • Conducts comprehensive analysis of the operational environment, including cultural, political, and social dynamics, to identify and assess key target audiences.
  • Evaluates audience beliefs, values, motivations, and information consumption patterns to inform tailored and effective messaging strategies.
  • Monitors audience progression or regression toward desired objectives, determining the effectiveness of influence efforts and recommending data-driven adjustments.
  • Validates and refines assessments by comparing forecasted outcomes with observed events, reducing uncertainty and improving operational effectiveness.


Assessment Planning & Execution
  • Develops and executes assessment strategies rooted in social and behavioral science methodologies, integrating quantitative and qualitative measures to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Applies familiarity with the Assess and Influence Process and the Hierarchy of Psychological Effects Model (HPEM) to support PSYOP planning and decision-making; training provided for qualified candidates.
  • Leads assessments of internet-based engagements, providing data-driven insights into program performance and social media effectiveness.
  • Captures and documents progress toward accomplishing tasks, creating conditions, or achieving operational objectives at any point in time.


Data Management & Reporting
  • Extracts, restructures, and analyzes data from multiple sources-including CSV and delimited text formats-using intermediate to advanced Excel skills such as PivotTables and formulas.
  • Produces assessment products, including quarterly C2IE reports, weekly and monthly summaries, and ad hoc briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Consolidates and refines data into clear, consumable reports and presentations tailored to diverse audiences ranging from technical teams to senior leadership.
  • Updates and maintains summary information, including tables, graphics, and trend analysis, ensuring accuracy and relevance for stakeholder consumption.


Research & Innovation
  • Develops and applies innovative assessment techniques grounded in social and behavioral science research to meet evolving program requirements.
  • Collects and synthesizes qualitative vignettes to support data interpretation and contextualize quantitative findings.
  • Demonstrates superior written communication skills by crafting meaningful narratives that integrate quantitative and qualitative data into actionable assessments.


Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure assessment products accurately reflect the operational environment and support mission objectives.
  • Engages with team members to clarify assumptions, refine methodologies, and enhance the effectiveness of internet-based social media programs.
  • Summarizes analytical results and presents findings in clear, actionable formats tailored for both general and senior leadership audiences.
  • Adheres to all legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines throughout all assessment activities.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Intelligence Studies, or related field is required; Master's degree preferred. Coursework or experience in research methods or statistics is highly desirable.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of relevant analytic, research, or assessment experience; additional experience may be substituted for education and vice versa.
  • Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI. Candidates who already possess an active TS/SCI are also eligible and preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Intermediate data analysis and data extraction skills
    • Intermediate understanding of database structure and queries
    • Ability to work with unstructured data and perform data cleaning and verification
    • Demonstrated experience with Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) and Measures of Performance (MOP)
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills
    • Desired: Experience with SQL; intermediate analytics skills (Python, Java, R); familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Location: Customer Site (Fayetteville, NC).


The likely salary range for this position is $88,130 - $117,300. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
