We are seeking an expert to help us discover and drive innovative solutions across the breadth of the Asymmetric Operations Sector mission set. You will work with AOS leaders and teams of engineers and scientists and contribute to all phases of our work. This role will emphasize cyber operations and how it contributes to AOS and Laboratory mission sets.
As a Strategic Advisor for Asymmetric Operations...- Your primary responsibility will advise the sector on strategic areas in cyber operations, spanning weapon systems, command/control/communications, critical infrastructure and other areas that are key for national security.
- You will partner with line leaders and program managers from across the sector, APL and the sponsor community, and to develop deep understanding of sponsor challenges across the AOS mission set.
- You will work with line organizations to help promotes intellectual curiosity, creativity, innovation, and technical excellence to deliver high-impact capabilities meeting current and future sponsor needs. You will bring insights from operational experience that can help refine staff ideas to have disruptive impact on our missions.
- You will grow and develop staff through coaching and mentoring. You'll communicate with our teams on how to develop staff, accelerate growth and manage succession.
- You will engage with sponsors, program/project managers, and other groups and staff to solicit ideas and perspectives and to generate best solutions. You will have and continue to cultivate a deep understanding of the sponsors' challenges
- You will engage with other peer organizations to understand how APL can partner with key organizations across the national security community to bring unified and collaborative capabilities to our sponsors.
QualificationsYou meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...- Have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, computer science, physics or another discipline relevant to the duties as described above, or demonstrated experience and leadership in advanced cyber operations for national security
- Have at least 10 years of experience leading high performing organizations in government/military, industry or UARC/FFRDCs.
- Have a proven track record of successfully mentoring and developing staff and cultivating collaborative relationships within and across organizational boundaries.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Are able to travel occasionally to attend meetings with our government partners.
- Hold an active TS/SCI level security clearance and are able to obtain a TS/SCI+Poly by start date. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...- Have experience in creating strategies for national-level military or other USG cyber organizations.
- Proven track record in developing impactful collaborations among organizations toward mission goals and objectives
- Have significant experience briefing high-level sponsors at the Flag and SES levels.

Maximum Rate$290,000 Annually
