Full Job Description
State Field Director All on the Field (AOTF) runs paid canvassing and ballot-access programs across multiple states. We are hiring a State Field Director to lead our 2026 Mississippi canvass program across DeSoto County, North Mississippi, and the Delta. The director owns the full canvass program across both regions and is responsible for meeting door-count and quality targets on a tight timeline. The role combines senior team management with program building: hiring and directing a management layer of Regional Field Directors and team leads, building and running the program's training, and maintaining the integrity of the data the program produces. Much of this turf is rural, with sites spread across long distances and limited local labor pools, and we are looking for a director with direct experience running field programs in that environment. This is an in-state position; relocation is required. Responsibilities - Lead a multi-region paid canvass across DeSoto County, North Mississippi, and the Delta - Hire, train, and manage the Deputy Field Director and Regional Field Directors, and own the performance of the full management layer - Build the program's training program: curriculum, materials, onboarding sequence, and refreshers for staff joining midstream - Build and own the program's staffing plan: set coverage by region, determine canvasser schedules and ramp targets, and verify canvasser hours daily - Set and hold daily and weekly production goals; track performance by region and course-correct - Capture and elevate qualitative canvasser feedback on voter sentiment, name recognition, message resonance - Enforce data quality and field integrity standards, including spot-checks, back-checks, and fraud prevention - Work alongside the operations team to build recruitment pipelines in rural labor markets, including faith organizations, colleges and universities, community organizations, and local networks - Report program numbers to AOTF leadership on a daily cadence - Other duties as the program requires Qualifications - 3+ cycles of field experience, including at least one in a senior statewide or multi-region role - Direct experience running field programs in rural and small-town geography, where turf is spread out and local labor pools are limited. Mississippi or Deep South experience required. - Experience building training curricula and materials, not only delivering them - Experience managing managers - Track record of meeting metric-driven goals on deadline - Proficient with VAN/Votebuilder, MiniVAN, and standard field tools - Composed and decisive under the pressure of a live program - Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle; regular in-state driving required The Details - Salary: $7,500 to $8,000 per month - Health benefits - This position is based in DeSoto County, Mississippi. We will also consider candidates based in or willing to relocate to Greenville or Clarksdale, Mississippi. Candidate must be in, or willing to relocate to, the area. - Schedule: Full-time. Because you are directing a field team that works evenings and weekends, your hours will track the program and regularly fall outside a standard workday. - Term: Position runs through November 2026 - Reports to: Director of Field Operations Applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis.
