$88,000 - $114,000 DOQ • Full Benefits • Non-Exempt

The Town of Jackson is seeking a transit professional to join our leadership team at START. This position reports to the Transit Operations Manager and develops and monitors training and safety programs for the driving team. Coordinator also supervises a team of Transit Operators by scheduling, overseeing, training, and monitoring daily activities of on-road operations, administering safety programs, conducting accident investigations, monitoring vehicle repair and maintenance, and also driving routes. Key responsibilities include developing, refining, and monitoring training and safety programs; management and leadership; monitoring, training and coaching Transit Operators; backup for emergency situations; responding to customer complaints or issues; working closely with Transit Operators for compliance with drug and alcohol testing requirements; dispatching operations during assigned shifts; and review and approval of shift work and time sheets.

The ideal candidate brings:
  • High School/GED.
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) w/passenger endorsement.
  • Current Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • 2-4 years of driving experience carrying passengers + 6 months of administrative/office experience.
  • Strong database, writing, and administrative skills.
  • The ability to work effectively, positively, and professionally with Transit Operators, administration, and the public.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and capacity to anticipate and resolve issues.
