Full Job Description
The Physical or Occupational Staff Therapist Position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral. Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization. Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family. Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals. Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees. Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital's patient care and strategic direction. Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.In cooperation with other local leaders, offers exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children® FOCUSED©™ Program, a system-wide model for professional practice that stresses and emphasizes patient-centered care, or always putting the needs of the patients (and their families first). Key Responsibilities: • The Physical Therapist is an integral member of the rehab team and is responsible for the administration of appropriate treatment techniques and modalities for the rehabilitation of children aged birth to 21. • Responsible for adherence to the scope and standards of practice as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association. • Uses creativity, professional judgment, and problem-solving techniques to achieve quality outcomes and provide the highest quality of patient centered care. • Participates in patient and family teaching and works collaboratively with other disciplines. • Plays an integral role in facilitating functional performance through the integration of skill development, strength and movement, play based activities, and social-emotional development. Required Qualifications: • Licensed in WA • Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred Qualifications: • 1 year experience in Physical Therapy The pay range for this position is $38.90 - $58.36. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
