Job Description

onsemi is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Semiconductor Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in East Fishkill, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of raw materials supplied to our manufacturing operations. This role involves working closely with suppliers to develop and implement quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Quality Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with semiconductor suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Quality System Audits: Conduct regular supplier audits using IATF and VDA6.3 requirements to assess quality systems, processes, and product quality. Identify areas for improvement and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve quality issues related to semiconductor components. Utilize root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance plans, including inspection and testing procedures, to ensure incoming semiconductor components meet required standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve overall supplier performance.
  • Data System Ownership: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier quality performance, eCoA, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, to address quality-related issues and support new product development.
  • Customer Requirements: Understand customer requirements of onsemi with respect to sub-suppliers and provide responses to customer inquiries as needed.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in the semiconductor industry. Knowledge of APQP, SPC, MSA, PSW.
  • Preferred: Lead auditor certified.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and quality standards. Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, FMEA, and SPC.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions as well as 8D / 5 Why.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in quality assessments and documentation.

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $101,700 - $172,700 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
