Full Job Description
About The Role
We are looking for a Staff Salesforce Engineer for the Product & Technology (P&T) team at The RealReal. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for an engineer who stays close to the code and can design for a complex, large-scale Salesforce org. You will raise engineering standards on the team, solve hard integration and platform problems, and help us treat Salesforce as a product: code-first development, automated testing, and reliable delivery.
You will help build the technical foundation for AI-driven automation (Agentforce and Data Cloud), complex system integrations, and platform observability. This is not a point-and-click admin role, and it is not the org-wide architecture seat. You will partner with our Principal Salesforce Engineer and engineering leadership, write critical-path Apex and Lightning Web Components, and set the bar for how the team builds.

What You Get To Do Every Day
  • Hands-on Development: Lead the configuration and development for Salesforce and our integrated tools to support complex logic. This includes staying hands-on with the codebase, developing applications using Apex Classes, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), VisualForce Pages, and Aura Components.
  • AI & Automation: Serve as a key driver for our AI roadmap, specifically focusing on implementing Agentforce, Voice Recognition, and Outreach Automation. You'll help us leverage AI to streamline the "Consignor + Store Buyer" relationship management lifecycle.
  • Architecture: Develop technical diagrams, integration standards, and better ways to manage our environments. You'll ensure every solution is built for scale, performance, and reliability from day one.
  • Code Quality: Own your code from start to finish. This means building for performance and scale, including bulk-safe patterns and robust automated tests.
  • Solution Design: Lead design discussions to make sure what we build fits with our global governance and enterprise standards. You will provide ongoing technical support for existing custom Apex code and configurations.
  • Mentoring: Advise other engineers on the team through code reviews and sharing best practices around readability, scalability, and test coverage.
  • Collaboration: Work with business stakeholders to give technical guidance on security and performance, turning their requirements into actual solutions.

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:
  • 5 or more years in a mid-to-large company with a clear history of shipping complex technical projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Deep technical proficiency in Apex Classes, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), VisualForce Pages, and Aura Components.
  • Proven experience or deep knowledge in Agentforce and AI-driven automations.
  • Experience with integration tech, SSO, Master Data Management, and Agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or a similar field.
  • Multiple Salesforce certifications are required, specifically Platform Developer II (PDII) and at least one Architect-track certification (e.g., Application Architect or System Architect).

Preferred Requirements:
  • Project Management certifications
  • Experience with LeanData, Xactly, Genesys PureCloud, Jira, Zoom, and Sumo integrations.
  • Knowledge of managing multiple Salesforce orgs and/or multiple teams that use Salesforce to solve a variety of requirements. Experienced working with complex Salesforce orgs with hundreds or thousands of users.

Compensation, Benefits, + Perks
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • 401K with Company Match
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Paid Parental Leave
