Full Job Description
The Staff Product Engineer for BMS is a highly experienced and technically proficient role responsible for the successful characterization, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing release of BMS ICs for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with deep knowledge of automotive quality and safety standards (AEC-Q100, APQP, ISO 26262) and a strong understanding of IC design, test, and manufacturing processes. This role is a critical link between the design, test, applications, and quality assurance teams, ensuring that the BMS IC meets all functional, performance, and reliability requirements throughout its lifecycle. Key Responsibilities • Product Qualification and Reliability: - Lead and manage the qualification of new BMS products, ensuring compliance with automotive standards such as AEC-Q100 for stress qualification. - Develop, execute, and oversee comprehensive product reliability plans. • Characterization and Validation: - Develop and implement characterization plans to fully test and validate the performance of BMS ICs, covering all features and operating conditions. - Work closely with design and test engineers to create robust and efficient test programs for both characterization and high-volume manufacturing. • Statistical Data Analysis: - Apply advanced statistical analysis techniques to product data for process monitoring, yield optimization, and test limit definition. - Utilize statistical tools to identify and resolve performance and reliability issues. • Automotive Quality and Functional Safety: - Serve as the product expert for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation. - Drive functional safety (ISO 26262) compliance by supporting safety mechanism validation, fault injection testing, and reporting as part of the overall IC safety case. • Problem Solving and Failure Analysis: - Lead cross-functional teams in the analysis of customer returns and production test failures to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions. - Utilize techniques such as 8D methodology for formal problem-solving and reporting. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Act as the primary technical interface for customers, application engineers, design teams, and test engineers. - Provide technical support during product integration and production ramp-up. Qualifications • Education: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: - 10+ years of relevant experience in product or test engineering for automotive semiconductor ICs. - Extensive experience with BMS ICs or similar power/analog ICs for automotive applications. • Technical Skills: - Deep understanding of automotive standards, including AEC-Q100, APQP, PPAP, and ISO 26262. - Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and methodologies for IC data. - Strong knowledge of IC fabrication, assembly, and testing processes. • Soft Skills: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external teams. - Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive complex projects to completion. - Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making. We believe in rewarding our employees with a competitive benefits package alongside their salary. More information will be provided during the hiring process.
