Staff Product DesignerRole Overview:We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to own the end-to-end user experience at Helpside and build our design system from the ground up. You'll set design standards for the product and do hands-on work involving: research, user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and shipped features. You'll work directly with leadership, product and engineering, and cross-functional teams to make complex HR, payroll, and benefits workflows simple and easy to use.
Key Responsibilities:UX Vision & Strategy -
- Define, communicate, and implement a cohesive vision for the product user experience that helps our clients achieve their goals and helps Helpside meet our business objectives
- Influence product strategy by representing and advocating for user needs in planning and prioritization
- Turn complex HR, payroll, and benefits processes into effortless, human-centered user journeys
Design System & Execution -
- Build and maintain a comprehensive design system - styles, components, information architecture, and user flows - that lets us scale quickly while staying consistent
- Own end-to-end design for features and initiatives: research, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI
- Shepherd designs from concept to ship, collaborating closely with engineering through implementation
User & Market Research -
- Deeply understand our clients and target personas through usability tests, customer interviews, and design reviews
- Use data and research to set strategy and make design decisions
Collaboration & Leadership -
- Partner with product, engineering, and department heads to translate business needs into design direction across the product
- Present your work, explain your rationale, and influence without authority - with leadership, engineers, and clients
Qualifications:- 8+ years of product design experience, including time operating at a staff or principal level, preferably in B2B/SaaS software
- A strong portfolio showing end-to-end work - including zero-to-one products and design systems you built, not just contributed to
- Proficiency with Figma (design system management, prototyping, component architecture)
- Experience using AI tools
- High agency and strong communication
- Preference for (but not required) candidates with experience in HR tech, payroll, benefits, fintech, or other complex/data-heavy domains
