Full Job Description
We are looking for a thoughtful, high-impact Staff Product Designer to join our Growth Design team. You will help shape how people discover Reddit, convert to app, engage more deeply, and keep coming back. You will bring clarity to ambiguity, turn big goals into strong design strategy, and operate as a co-architect of the roadmap alongside Product and Engineering. You will thrive here if you enjoy high-velocity experimentation, can turn complex user behavior into seamless engagement loops, and know how to identify the systems, patterns, and product bets that unlock growth across multiple surfaces and teams. What you'll do: - Lead through ambiguity by turning broad business problems into clear design strategies, phased plans, and actionable scopes across the Growth portfolio. - Drive end-to-end growth work not just as a single-feature owner, but as a designer shaping the broader engagement system. - Shape high-visibility experiences across both Reddit-owned and partner surfaces, ensuring Reddit is represented with clarity, quality, and strategic intent. - Use coding tools like Cursor or similar environments to build high-fidelity, functional prototypes that feel real, use real data, and help de-risk complex ideas before they ship. - Act as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Design leadership, helping influence priorities and connect rapid experimentation to longer-term product direction. - Present multiple design directions with confidence to senior and executive leadership, using data-driven insight, strong product judgment, and design intuition to support your recommendations. - Maintain a high bar for visual and interaction design while helping raise the bar for the broader organization through systems thinking, reusable patterns, and new components that scale for Growth and the rest of Reddit. - Translate complex data, user behavior, and experiment results into simple, compelling narratives that build confidence with executive stakeholders and create momentum around the right product bets. What we're looking for: - 8-10+ years of product design experience, ideally in growth, platform, or high-scale consumer technology environments. - Proven ability to operate at Staff scope, driving impact beyond a single team or feature area and influencing product direction across a broader portfolio. - Proficiency in prototyping via code using tools like Cursor, along with a belief that the best way to test an idea is to build it. - A strong portfolio that demonstrates mastery of craft, systems thinking, and measurable impact on acquisition, conversion, retention, or other core growth outcomes. - Comfortable working in an environment defined by rapid iteration, A/B testing, and pivoting based on performance data. - Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives for senior and executive-level reviews. - Strong judgment and leadership presence, with the ability to navigate complexity, create clarity, and influence cross-functional teams through ambiguity. Benefits: - Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits and Income Replacement Programs - 401k with Employer Match - Global Benefit programs that fit your lifestyle, from workspace to professional development to caregiving support - Family Planning Support - Gender-Affirming Care - Mental Health & Coaching Benefits - Flexible Vacation & Paid Volunteer Time Off - Generous Paid Parental Leave #LI-Remote #LI-YK1 Pay Transparency: This job posting may span more than one career level. About Reddit

Reddit is an American social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website. Registered members submit content to the site such as links, text posts, images, and videos, which are then voted up or down by other members. Posts are organized by subject into user-created boards called "communities" or "subreddits", which cover topics such as news, politics, religion, science, movies, video games, music, books, sports, fitness, cooking, pets, and image-sharing. Submissions with more upvotes appear towards the top of their subreddit and, if they receive enough upvotes, ultimately on the site's front page. Although there are strict rules prohibiting harassment, it still occurs, and Reddit administrators moderate the communities and close or restrict them on occasion. Moderation is also conducted by community-specific moderators, who are not considered Reddit employees. As of September 2021, Reddit ranks as the 19th-most-visited website in the world and 7th most-visited website in the U.S., according to Alexa Internet. About 42–49.3% of its user base comes from the United States, followed by the United Kingdom at 7.9–8.2% and Canada at 5.2–7.8%. Twenty-two percent of U.S. adults aged 18 to 29 years, and 14 percent of U.S. adults aged 30 to 49 years, regularly use Reddit. Reddit was founded by University of Virginia roommates Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian, with Aaron Swartz, in 2005. Condé Nast Publications acquired the site in October 2006. In 2011, Reddit became an independent subsidiary of Condé Nast's parent company, Advance Publications. In October 2014, Reddit raised $50 million in a funding round led by Sam Altman and including investors Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel, Ron Conway, Snoop Dogg, and Jared Leto. Their investment valued the company at $500 million then. In July 2017, Reddit raised $200 million for a $1.8 billion valuation, with Advance Publications remaining the majority stakeholder. In February 2019, a $300 million funding round led by Tencent brought the company's valuation to $3 billion. In August 2021, a $700 million funding round led by Fidelity Investments raised that valuation to over $10 billion.
