As a Staff Product Designer, you are a member of the world-class CNN Digital Product Design Team, which is responsible for creating industry-leading user experiences engaged by millions across the globe. The Staff Product Designer is an experienced creative professional who collaborates with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, editors, and data scientists to grow CNN Digital product experiences. This work informs and engages our users and impacts CNN's bottom line. As a Staff Product Designer, you will be responsible for developing experiences and capabilities across CNN Digital web properties, native mobile applications, and OTT apps. This role is focused on creating design expressions dedicated to converting our audience to new subscribers of the CNN streaming product. You will create sophisticated and eye-catching elements that communicate the benefits of a subscription to the world-class journalism of CNN. Your Role Accountabilities... Executes across all phases of the design process from conception to implementation to include (but not limited to) wireframing, prototyping, and visual design Helps drive large-scale highly strategic projects that are deemed business critical Contributes to a clear vision for the future of design and demonstrates ability to implement forward thinking design Transforms ideas of concepts into visually tangible flows and plans Delivers polished visuals based on strong design fundamentals Comprehends the intersection of product design of a media streaming and business goals Builds collaborative relationships with internal stakeholder leads (Product Management, Engineering, Editorial, Revenue etc.) to ensure consistency with broader company goals Demonstrates strong understanding and implementation of internal design process Actively contributes to provide thoughtful solutions to complex design problems Qualifications & Experience... 8+ years professional experience, specifically as a Product Designer Design portfolio demonstrating strong UX and visual design solutions, with an emphasis on identifying and meaningfully solving true user problems Mastery in Figma UX software and prototyping Foundational understanding HTML and CSS Contribute to and evolve CNN's user experience to support scalability, localization, and accessibility at a global level. Experience with media environments and streaming a plus Familiarity with subscription lifecycles, paywalls, and monetization strategies. Exposure to international research or working with distributed, global teams. Understands product bundling, identity, verification, authentication, and authorization systems Exceptional track record to execute on product design strategy and partner with cross functional team members Experience building world class product experiences, streamline workflows with continuous iteration and improvement Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to drive user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience How We Get Things Done... Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $119,000.00 - $221,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
