The AP is seeking a Key Account Manager to join the team. This role is central to retaining and deepening AP's relationships with its most important U.S. media customers - including television networks and stations, newspapers, digital publishers, and educational institutions. The Key Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for a defined portfolio of accounts, driving customer satisfaction, engagement, and account growth. Success is measured not by direct revenue ownership, but by retention, expansion within existing accounts, and the quality of ongoing customer relationships.

The ideal candidate understands the media landscape deeply, brings a consultative approach to account management, and thrives on in-person engagement. They will act as a bridge between customers and AP's editorial, product, platform, legal, and finance teams - and will be an ambassador for AP's mission, integrity, and values.

This role is an individual contributor position and will report directly to a Director-level position.

  • Maintain deep fluency in AP's services and offerings; educate and advise customers on the full range of ways AP can support their needs.

  • Maintain regular, substantive in-person engagement with customers; serve as their trusted day-to-day contact for questions on services, delivery, and billing.

  • Track account activity, opportunities, and customer health in Salesforce; provide regular reporting to the team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, product, platform, legal, and finance teams to resolve issues and deliver value to customers.

  • Support the broader team through account and database coordination, client presentation preparation, and operational follow-through.

Who you are:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in B2B content licensing, news services, or media account management; familiarity with intellectual property products a plus.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong account planning skills with both analytical and consultative approaches; proven ability to manage a complex portfolio.

  • Self-starter with high ethical standards, disciplined follow-through, and strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); executive presence with the ability to engage senior client stakeholders.

  • Active listener with strong problem-solving instincts and the ability to develop creative, needs-based solutions.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce or comparable CRM.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. required.

  • Ability to work in the NYC office a minimum of three (3) days per week.

  • Ability to travel for regular in-person client engagement.

Why join us:

  • A mission-driven, inclusive environment focused on both individual and collective success.

  • Opportunities for professional development to help you reach your career goals.

  • Access to tools, mentorship, and resources tailored to elevate your proficiency and contributions.
