About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Asset Integrity and Verification, the Staff Pressure Integrity Engineeris responsible for providing technical authority and strategic leadership for pressure systems integrity across Cenovus' Atlantic Region offshore assets. The role is accountable for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of pressure systems on the SeaRose FPSO and West White Rose facilities, including ownership of key Safety Critical Elements and the Risk-Based Inspection program. The Staff Pressure Integrity Engineer develops and governs integrity management strategies, leads complex engineering assessments, provides expert guidance on degradation and loss of containment risks, and collaborates across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, HSE, and Regulatory stakeholders to optimize asset integrity, production reliability, and major accident hazard risk management.

This position is a full-time, permanent position, located at our St. John’s office with occasional travel offshore.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the pressure integrity program to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of offshore assets.

  • Own and continuously improve Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) strategies, inspection programs, and integrity management plans for pressure systems.

  • Assess equipment condition, degradation mechanisms, and fitness-for-service to support risk-informed decisions on maintenance, repair, and replacement.

  • Develop corrosion monitoring and mitigation strategies, including coating programs, inspection plans, and Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs).

  • Provide technical leadership and integrity support for projects, turnarounds, management of change (MOC) processes, and offshore operations.

  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and defect elimination initiatives to improve asset reliability and process safety performance.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and external stakeholders to maintain regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement across the asset integrity program

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree, P. Eng,

  • A member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL)

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a progressively responsible engineering role within the oil and gas industry

  • Strong understanding of pressure integrity engineering principles and offshore regulatory requirements, enabling you to make sound technical decisions that protect people, the environment, and asset reliability.

  • A working knowledge of API 580/581.

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to offshore pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a CAPP medical and BST/HUEBA testing.

You must be able to travel via helicopter and boat. This position requires the successful candidate travel offshore, there you will be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel.

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a medical and driver’s abstract review.
