DescriptionThe Staff Plumbing Engineer will work on project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The Staff Plumbing Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting plumbing plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
What you will do
- Perform plumbing design of projects from the conceptual phase through construction administration efforts.
- Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
- Design plumbing systems for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
- Apply experienced discipline knowledge of industry standard plumbing engineering/design practices, principles, codes, and procedures within the MEP AE services industry.
- Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.
- Participate in cross discipline coordination and internal meetings.
- Update project construction documentation provided by senior engineers. Coordinate and verify corrections are made across platform of CAD related software.
- Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
- Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
Qualifications - Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Required or
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. and 3 years of plumbing engineering experience, consulting preferred. Required or
- Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Required
- Experience in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Eg. design sanitary waste and vent, hot water systems, storm drainage, grease waste including grease interceptors, domestic and non-potable water systems, size and select hot water heaters, pumps, valve components.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills. (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and plumbing analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred.
- Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) Certification Preferred.
Compensation $100,000.00-150,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
