Job Summary and QualificationsThe Staff Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care including computer order entry, drug distribution, evaluation of medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency and adequacy of monitoring, evaluation of drug interactions and allergies and therapeutic monitoring of drugs.
What you will do in this role:
- You will be responsible for coordinating drug distribution activities in areas under their supervision. Includes supervision of pharmacy technicians, order verification of medication orders, resolution of medication related problems and preparation of parenteral products (IV admixtures, cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents).
- You will perform pharmacy clinical activities including but not limited to providing pharmacokinetic consults, monitoring targeted drugs, antimicrobial therapy recommendations, and evaluating appropriateness of drug therapy based on disease state, host factors, and cost effectiveness.
- Serve as a source of drug information to medical and nursing staff.
- Perform patient care unit inspections as required to meet regulatory requirements, to minimize errors in the medication use process by utilizing S.T.A.R. (Stop, Think, Act and Review) and other error prevention techniques.
What Qualifications You will need: - Minimum of a BS in Pharmacy Required, PhD preferred.
- Prior hospital based Pharmacy experience preferred.
- Current GA state Pharmacy license required.
