How you’ll contribute
A Staff Pharmacist who excels in this role:
- Ensure accurate and efficient verification and dispensing of medications to support safe therapy across inpatient units, the emergency department, and outpatient services.
- Oversee day‑to‑day pharmacy operations by coordinating order entry, verification, and medication distribution to maintain timely workflow in a busy community hospital setting.
- Evaluate medication orders for clinical appropriateness, potential interactions, allergy concerns, and adherence to hospital formulary standards and policies.
- Support medication reconciliation by maintaining accurate patient medication profiles and resolving discrepancies during admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Provide guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians to promote safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations.
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other hospital staff to resolve medication‑related issues and ensure timely access to needed therapies.
- Assist with the operation and troubleshooting of automated dispensing cabinets and other medication‑use technologies.
- Participate in medication safety initiatives, quality improvement projects, and cost‑effective medication stewardship efforts.
- Contribute to a culture of safety by identifying, documenting, and helping address medication errors, near misses, and workflow improvement opportunities.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a current pharmacy licensure in the state of KY. Additional requirements include:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required; Doctoral Degree Preferred
- Experience: Hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Residency training desired.
