Job Description

Exciting opportunity to work on next-generation Optical Coherent Pluggable technologies powering high-speed Data Center and Telecom network. In this role, you will be immersed in a collaborative and innovative team environment at our Ottawa site, where you'll have hands-on involvement with cutting-edge optical firmware integration test for development release and customer issue support. You will work alongside skilled engineers who are passionate about technology and dedicated to solving complex challenges.

Integration, Verification & Testing comprises the integration of SW and / or HW or system components into system, platform, product releases, or networks and verifies the integrated entity or network against particular requirements and specifications. Daily tasks will include both manual testing and automation using Python, allowing you to enhance your coding skills while applying your analytical abilities. Surely covers setup and maintenance of laboratory and associated equipment, tools, and devices.

Responsibilities

  1. Technical leadership in validation of Optical Coherent Pluggable firmware features and interoperability
  2. Working with scrum team, developing and execute test strategies for CMIS-compliant modules, conduct manual/auto testing for project use cases and investigate customer-related issues in the lab. Enhance existing Python scripts and design new test cases to meet project requirements.
  3. Automate testing processes on the PACE test platform using Python fluently involving repo, frameworks, non-trivial scripts. Analyze test reports to allocate firmware bug responsibilities effectively.
  4. Provide reliable on-site support for the optical Firmware System Integration Test (SIT) Ottawa lab, including setup of test equipment and optical components, 3+days/week is required in our office/lab
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline testing workflows and improve efficiency.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies relevant to optical firmware testing.
  7. Document test procedures and results for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.


Qualifications

Desired Experience:

Strong understanding of Optical Coherent technologies (400G/800G ZR/ZR+), and solid experience in Firmware Validation of Optical Coherent Modules (ZR/ZR+, DWDM, CMIS-based pluggable)
  1. Proficient in Python programming, knowledge of Python automation and test frameworks
  2. Experience with data center networking or telecom systems
  3. hands-on experience on traffic generators, optical test equipment, and log analysis
  4. Typically 7+ years directly related experience and a graduate equivalent degree
    Nice to have: Knowledge of Infinera/Nokia Coherent Pluggables
