Full Job Description
The Staff Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center's standard of care, and the institution's mission and goals.

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities - HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • One (1) year critical care experience - REQUIRED
  • Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer knowledge and skills
  • Multidisciplinary team and patient capability.
  • Computer application skills - ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, Microsoft Excel
