Description

Title: Staff MD Orthopedics

Status: Full-Time 40/hr wk w/ rotating call

The Orthopedic Surgeon is a highly skilled medical professional specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions. This position requires expertise in various orthopedic procedures and the ability to provide comprehensive care to patients with bone, joint, and muscle disorders.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnosing and evaluating patients' orthopedic conditions through physical examinations, medical history review, and diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRI scans, and CT scans.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans based on the diagnosis, including both surgical and non-surgical approaches.
  • Performing surgical procedures such as joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, and other orthopedic interventions, with precision and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including primary care providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists, to develop postoperative care plans and facilitate patients' recovery.
  • Providing pre-operative and post-operative care to patients, ensuring their well-being throughout the treatment process.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in orthopedic surgery and incorporating evidence-based practices into clinical decision-making.
  • Participating in medical conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and surgical outcomes.
  • Demonstrating strong communication skills in effectively conveying medical information to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an orthopedic surgery residency program
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification by the appropriate governing body
  • Valid Vermont medical license to practice as an orthopedic surgeon.
  • Valid Vermont DEA license
  • CPR for Healthcare providers
  • Proficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques and procedures, including familiarity with the latest advancements.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to effectively assess and treat orthopedic conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety.

Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155

In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
