Full Job Description
Cellanome is adding an Internal Service Engineer responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting our internal fleet of proprietary instruments and platforms. As a member of the Customer Support team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing, to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. You will also provide feedback to Research and Product Development teams and support new product Introductions to ensure successful deployment of new and improvements on existing products in the field. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for providing excellent service. Essential Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Provide technical support and preventative maintenance on Cellanome platforms for internal and customer applications. • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions and failures, including mechanical, electronical, optics, fluidics, and software. • Assist in the installation and qualification of new equipment or system upgrades. • Maintain detailed records of service activities, including repair logs, calibration reports, and any necessary system modifications. • Collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to develop and implement solutions for product improvements or enhancements. • Mentor new staff or team members on platform capabilities and design, as well as internal processes and platform handling. • Support Sales and Customer Service teams with technical questions related to instrumentation. • Ensure that all service activities comply with internal policies and industry standards. • Test equipment post-repair, offer feedback to R&D on potential product improvements, and assist in the development of new systems or features. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for approximately 15% of typical working day. • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day. • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height. • Ability to comply with personal protective equipment requirements. Role Requirements: • Bachelor's or other advanced university degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related field. • Minimum 5-8 years of service experience, ideally in complex life science tools/instruments space. • Strong problem-solving skills, can-do attitude, and attention to detail. • Valid passport and driver's license. • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Preferred Qualifications: • Early-stage company experience. • Hands-on experience with instrumentation and laboratory equipment; experience as an end-user of related instrumentation. • Knowledge of cellular biology. We provide competitive total compensation packages, including base pay, benefits, and equity. In California, the estimated base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $160,000/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
